Off to School

Tim giving this little guy "five" at the night market.
This little cutie is the baby of the fruit stand sellers where P/A buy sliced mango every week at their night market.  He was sobbing until Tim and I started talking to him, playing peek-a-boo, etc.    :-)

Yes, they were selling chicken feet at the night market.  We did NOT try them!!
No luck for me on the ring toss.
At the night market in the parking lot right beside P/A's apartment.  They can look down on it from their balcony.  We were all trying to land rings on the prizes.  Tim + Michelle = 0 prizes.   Paul won me the little panda bear I wanted, AND then with the last ring, won a little frog, which he traded in for the other panda bear, so I have a cute little set of a boy and a girl panda that Paul won at their night market!!     THANKS, Paul!!!
Eating at Hope Noodle
Hope Noodle  =  a favorite restaurant serving dishes made of Taiwanese noodles -- owned by Christians.
Paul and Alana in the teacher office at school
The boulevard right by their apartment
Love all the sculptures along the boulevard!
A morning of observation at Uncle Sam American School ---- "take two" --- we hope today it will all work out.  In the mornings, P/A teach kindergarten classes, so that's what we'll see.  In the afternoons they have the older kids, but our allotted time is just for some period in the a.m. today.  We'll take the bus down there so we don't get sweaty walking in our nice clothes.  Of course our house-slippers are in our back-packs to wear inside the school!!    :-)

Last night we met Paul for supper at Hope Noodle, one of their favorite restaurants nearby, run by Christians.  The lady who operates the restaurant obviously loves Paul, and she sent over a complimentary bowl of meatball soup for his parents - delicious!!  I had egg/ham/rice with lots of tiny chopped veggies - carrots, corn, kale.  Tim had pork over rice - very interesting spices - I think a lot of ginger.  Paul had beef noodle soup.  We all shared tastes - very good.  Oh for beverages, we stopped at 7-11 first.  Tim had white grape soda, very light and refreshing, and Paul had milk tea - yum!   (Alana was working on report cards!)

Also went to the little night market right by their apt. for some yummy food on sticks, sliced fresh mango, and some games of chance.  Paul won me two little panda bear statuettes!!   :-)

Off to school now!!
Love,
-M & T-
